The story begins with the earliest recollections of tom wingo about his mother's love of language and the beauty of the natural world around them. I just finished reading the prince of tides by pat conroy and absolutely loved it.

Though my review has less to do with the actual content of the book and more of a personal story, i believe that is what truly great books do: The ambition, invention and sheer energy in this book are admirable.
